GUY MADDIN is an independent filmmaker from Winnipeg, Canada. He has
made nine features, including the just-completed documentary MY
WINNIPEG,
and countless shorts over the twenty years of a belatedly started directing
career
which followed a richly rewarding, and just as torturous, decade of housepainting.
He is currently an instructor of History of Melodramatic Film in the
Icelandic
Department at the University of Manitoba and is working on feature film
collaborations
with John Ashbery, Kazuo Ishiguro and George Toles.
